Hello Kitty, My Melody, Jewelpet Mascots, More Run in Sanrio Character Election

Sanrio began streaming an official video of their various mascots promoting themselves for the Sanrio 28th Character Ranking election on Wednesday. Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Dear Daniel who parade through Shibuya in the video are only a few of the 100 characters listed on the ballot.

On the ballot page, each of the candidates has listed pledges they will carry out if they reach a certain ranking in the final results. Here are some examples:

9	Go-chan		To appear in an upcoming episode of the Crayon Shin-chan anime if he gets within the top ten.
14	Maimai		To send 10 lucky winners a Christmas Card from Mai Kuraki if she gets within the top 10.
20	Dear Daniel		To propose to Hello Kitty if he gets within the top 10.
24	Shinkansen		To do his best overseas if he gets within the top 20.
67	Yachiyo Charmer		To hold a kappa-head hairstyle contest if she gets within the top 50.
NEW	My Sweet Piano		If she places under #80, she'll shear her wool.
87	Peter Davis		If this year is no good, he'll really go back to England.

Voting will be held until July 7, and the results of the contest will be announced on July 20.
