Princess Mononoke Play to Be Streamed Pay-Per-View on Niconico

The Leamington Spa, Warwickshire theater company Whole Hog Theatre's final stage play performance of Princess Mononoke in Japan will be available via pay-per-view on niconico. The performance will stream on Monday at 5:00 p.m. JST (4:00 a.m. EDT) and tickets are on sale for 1,800 Nico Points when pre-ordered, and will be 2,000 Nico Points on the day of. It will also possible to watch the play after the live broadcast is finished, but tickets for that must be purchased by June 6.
The stage play opened in London with blessings from Studio Ghibli on April 2, with tickets selling out within 72 hours. A sold-out second UK run is planned for June 18-21.
The troupe performed a sample of the play during the "Cho Party 2” performances at the Niconico Chokaigi 2 event in Chiba last weekend.
Written and directed by Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki, the original Princess Mononoke anime film premiered in Japan in 1997.
