Sengoku Basara Magazine Debuts in Japan
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
An official magazine for the Sengoku Basara video game franchise debuted in Japan last Saturday. Series character Date Masamune graces the cover and opening page of the first issue of the magazine.
The debut issue contains various features on the Sengoku Basara franchise, including the latest news on the games, interviews with the creators and cast members, community news, illustrations, comics, and also a bundled bonus. The bonus for this issue is a radio drama CD featuring the voices of Date Masamune and Katakura Kojūrō — Kazuya Nakai and Toshiyuki Morikawa, respectively. A “Mame Sengoku Basara” (Bean Sengoku Basara) rubber strap is also included with the magazine.
CAPCOM's Sengoku Basara games have sold 3.2 million copies since 2005. They inspired the Sengoku Basara - Samurai Kings, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings 2, and Sengoku Basara - Samurai Kings: The Movie anime adaptations. A live-action series starring GACKT premiered in July, and spawned two compilation films in December.
