Namco Bandai Games began streaming a promotional video for the Meitantei Conan: Marionette Kōkyōkyoku (Detective Conan: Marionette Symphony) game on Thursday. Spike Chunsoft is developed this "zapping adventure" game for the Nintendo 3DS, which shipped in Japan on Thursday for 5,480 yen (about US$55).
In the game, terrorists take over the large facility of Sky Clover. Inside Sky Clover, horrible events happen one after another. The player as Conan Edogawa must solve the mystery and catch the criminal. The game also makes use of the 3DS' augmented reality feature to help give hints. The above video summarizes the game's plot and basic gameplay mechanics, and introduces the recurring characters and new original characters.
The game is a follow-up to last year's Meitantei Conan: Kago kara no Zensōkyoku (Detective Conan: Prelude from the Past) Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable title. Detective Conan: Marionette Symphony's release roughly coincides with the release of the franchise's 17th film, Detective Conan: Private Eye in the Distant Sea, which opened on April 20.
