Resident Evil's Mikami Reveals The Evil Within Game in Video, Plot Intro
posted on by Egan Loo
Tango Gameworks, the video game studio headed by Resident Evil director Shinji Mikami, revealed its first title as The Evil Within via a live-action teaser trailer on Friday.
The survival horror game will arrive on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and "next-generation consoles" via Bethesda Softworks next year. (Tango Gameworks had previously said that it is planning the game, then codenamed as Project Zwei, for later this year.) It will use an enhanced version of the id Tech 5 software engine.
Japanese game news site Inside Games reports that the game will be known as PsychoBreak in Japan. The story follows a detective named Sebastian and his partner as they head to the scene of a ghastly mass killing. Sebastian then witnesses the other police officers get killed off one by one, and just as the unknown assailant is about to attack him, he loses consciousness. He wakes up in a world of madness where apparitions lurk and death is never far away.
IGN will report on an early demo on Monday.
