Soul Sacrifice Invites Players to 'Hunt with Magic' in Latest Ads

Keiji Inafune's PS Vita game to ship in N. America on April 30

PlayStation Japan posted two TV commercials on Monday for its upcoming PlayStation Vita game Soul Sacrifice. Both ads feature battle footage and invite players to "hunt with magic."

In Soul Sacrifice, players take on the role of a slave who is rescued from sacrifice by a mysterious "Golam Book." The player can use magic, but a sacrifice must be made to do so, which can be anything from jewels to body parts. As magic users become more powerful, they lose their human appearance and will eventually turn into the monsters that inhabit the world.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan is producing the title developed by Marvelous AQL. The game is helmed by Keiji Inafune (Mega Man, Street Fighter) and features composers Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Kid Icarus: Uprising) and Wataru Hokoyama (Afrika, Resident Evil 5). The game will ship in Japan on March 7, in North America on April 30, and in Europe on May 1.

The premium edition of the game in Japan comes with a cosmic red PlayStation Vita model, a pouch, a strap, a cloth, and headphones for 24,980 yen (about US$268).
