Final Fantasy X HD Previewed, PS Vita Price Drop Confirmed

During a live-streaming PlayStation Vita presentation on Monday, Sony and Square Enix previewed the PlayStation Vita version of the Final Fantasy X HD port that will be released on both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita systems. Square Enix corporate executive Shinji Hashimoto displayed in-game character models of Yuna, Tidus, Yojimbo, and Bahamut in HD, and informed viewers that more information about the game would be announced soon.
Sony Computer Entertainment president Hiroshi Kawano also announced a price cut in Japan to the PS Vita system itself during the presentation, with both the Wi-Fi and 3G models being dropped to the price of 19,980 yen (about US$215) beginning on February 28. The bonus pack that includes the PS Vita system and a 32 GB memory card will drop its price from 34,980 yen (US$377) to 24,980 yen (US$270). The Starter Pack will also drop in price from 24,980 yen (US$269) to 19,980 yen (US$215), although quantities are limited. The Soul Sacrifice Premium Edition PS Vita will drop from 29,980 yen (US$323) to 24,980 yen (US$269).
Sony also revealed during the presentation that it will host a Debut Campaign to give 200 random customers who download a product from the PS Vita store for the first time a 2,000-yen (US$22) PSN ticket. Sony is hosting the campaign from February 28 to March 14. Other campaigns include a free download of the TV recording software Torne for the PS Vita from February 28 to March 13, and a free seven-day trial of PlayStation Plus between February 28 and March 18. Finally, a special edition Phantasy Star Online 2 Ice Silver PS Vita system will bundle the game and an AC1000 Acquisition ticket, which can be used to obtain items within the game. The Phantasy Star Online 2 game will arrive in Japan on February 28.
Additionally, Sony revealed at the presentation that Tecmo KOEI will release a demo for the Toukiden action video game in early April. The game itself will ship this summer. Sony also confirmed that Bandai Namco Games will release the God Eater 2 PS Vita game this year. Also, God Eater Burst for the PSP will be free to transfer to the PS Vita via the UMD passport service between February 28 and March 31,.
Marvelous AQL also revealed on Monday that the Valhalla Knights 3 PS Vita game has been delayed until May 23. The game's new price is 5,980 yen (about US$64). The game was previously slated to ship on January 31 for 6,980 yen (about US$75). XSEED Games will release Valhalla Knights 3 in North America.
