Namco Bandai Games announced on Monday that it will release the Project X Zone (pronounced Project Cross Zone) Nintendo 3DS simulation role-playing game in North America, Europe, and Australasia.
The game features more than 50 playable characters from 29 CAPCOM, Sega, and Namco Bandai Games franchises. Franchises featured in the game include Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Vampire (Darkstalkers), Street Fighter, Mega Man, Virtua Fighter, Shining Force EXA, Tales of Vesperia, Tekken, .hack, Xenosaga, Valkyria Chronicles, Sakura Wars, Space Channel 5, Dynamite Deka (Die Hard Arcade), Resonance of Fate, God Eater, and Super Robot Wars Original Generation, among others.
In the game, players use a team of two characters to explore the game's world. Namco Bandai Games describes the story as follows:
Project X Zone takes place in a world surrounded by a hidden chaos with shadows and evil lurking beneath the peaceful cover of everyday life. When a rift in time and space suddenly appears, a doorway to various universes is opened allowing both heroes and villains from different worlds to cross paths.
Namco Bandai Games will release the game in all three areas in summer 2013. The game shipped in Japan in October 2012.
