17-year-old Airi was crowned as the most beautiful moe girl of Tokyo's Akihabara district in the 3rd Annual Moe Queen Contest on Saturday at the Akihabara UDX building. Airi is a second-year high school student who works as a server at Akihabara Music Cafe & Bar 441.
The contest seeks out the most moe waitresses in cosplay and maid cafes in Akihabara (as well as the Ikebukuro and Nakano areas). The 12 top choices competed in the finals, performing musical acts like singing and dancing.
The contest was moderated by the "Untouchables" comic duo member Hidetsugu Shibata and Ichiho Shirahata. Airi was awarded 100,000 yen (about US$1,100) and a debut CD contract. During the contest, she performed her original song "Magical☆Twintails."
