Japanese game developer Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) began streaming an eight-minute gameplay trailer for the Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Paradox (God and the Destiny Revolution Paradox) game on Thursday. The video features the character Ririel Saotome (played by Sora Tokui) explaining different aspects of the game such as the basics of the "destiny revolution" system, battling in dungeons, and the different types of support provided by each of the seven customizable angels.
NIS is producing this "destiny revolution RPG" for PlayStation 3 as its first 20th anniversary commemorative title. The creative team behind NIS' Disgaea role-playing game series is planning and developing the project. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya light novel illustrator Noizi Ito is serving as the game's character designer, and Yousei Teikoku (The Future Diary, Katanagatari theme songs) is providing soundtrack and theme song.
The story centers on seven angels and a high school student named Renya who suddenly becomes a god. He grows into an adult while working with the angels to grant wishes and change people's fate.
The game has been delayed from December 20 to January 24 due to various circumstances. It will be sold in a limited edition and a regular edition for 9,240 yen (about US$117) and 7,140 yen (US$90), respectively. The limited edition will include a "Destiny Revolution Bible for New Gods" booklet, two soundtrack CDs, and a limited first-edition box.
NIS CEO Sohei Niikawa already revealed that his company is planning a television anime project, although the anime has not yet been green-lit.
