WataMote Giveaway Prize Is Not Your Typical Hugging Pillow

To celebrate the release of the third volume of Nico Tanigawa's Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui! (No Matter How You Think About It It's Your Fault I'm Not Popular or WATAMOTE) manga on Saturday, the publisher Square Enix is holding a campaign with an unusual giveaway prize. Square Enix will give away 100 "Mokocchi Shoya." hugging pillow (dakimakura) covers with the hapless main lead Tomoko "Mokocchi" Kuroki on her (imagined) wedding night.
People can enter the campaign giveaway by collecting and mailing two stubs from the wraparound jacket bands on the third WATAMOTE volume and three other manga volumes released on Saturday: Cha Kurii's sixth +Tic Elder Sister volume, Takeshi Fujishiro's fourth Cafe Detective Club (Cafe Tanteibu) volume, and Ayumi Fujimura's first Haru ni Naru to Uzuuzu Shichau volume.
The slice-of-life gag comedy of WATAMOTE centers around the travails of Tomoko, a girl who thought she would be popular when she went to high school. However, she was in for a rude awakening, for cruel reality is not like the otome games (romance games for female players) she played.
The same third volume of WATAMOTE confirmed on Saturday that an anime adaptation has been green-lit. Tanigawa launched the manga in Square Enix's Gangan Online website last year.
