Naruto Powerful Shippuden Game Heads to North America
posted on by Egan Loo
Viz Media's Shonen Jump Alpha anthology confirmed that Naruto Powerful Shippuden, the Nintendo 3DS game inspired by Kenji Taira's chibi reinterpretation of Masashi Kishimoto's ninja story, will be released in North America next March.
As Viz notes, "in the Story Mode, you can play as Naruto or Rock Lee and take on missions directly from the anime. Or you can just duke it out in the Endless Battle Mode. The game also features a character leveling up system as well as the ability to call in support characters during battles."
Namco Bandai had released the "super deformed" 3DS fighting game under the title Naruto SD Powerful Shippuden in Japan on November 29. Taira's Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden manga also inspired the Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals anime.
The Australian Classification Board, a government rating board that decides classifications for films, computer games and certain publications, had rated the Naruto Powerful Shippuden title as PG last month.
