posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The Belgian station RTBF aired the opening to the French animated sequel to Studio Pierrot and DiC's Mysterious Cities of Gold anime. France's Blue Spirit Animation is planning three new 26-episode series with Movie-Plus.
The original story followed a Spanish boy, an Incan girl, and a boy from the Galapagos Islands as they searched for the fabled Cities of Gold in South America. The three continue their quest around the world in the sequel project.
The French studio DiC collaborated with Japan's Studio Pierrot on the original animated series, which ran from 1982 to 1983. It was also broadcast on Japan's NHK channel under the title Taiyo no Ko Esteban (Esteban, a Boy from the Sun).
The series will premiere on RTBF on November 17 at 9:30 a.m.
