This week's issue of Enterbrain's Famitsu magazine is revealing several new downloadable content (DLC) costumes. Four costumes inspired by characters in earlier "Tales of" games will be available for 300 yen (about US$3.75) each starting on November 22:

- Tales of Symphonia's Sheena Fujibayashi costume for Muse
- Tales of Innocence's Asras costume for Ludger (after transformation)
Swimsuits for Muse, Ludger, and Gaius will begin distribution on November 15 for 300 yen each. If players already have costumes from the first Tales of Xillia game, they can reuse them for the returning characters in the second game.
Sports uniforms will be available for 300 yen each starting on November 8:
- Basketball uniform for Ludger
- American football uniform for Jude
- Tennis uniform for Milla
- Soccer uniform for Leia
- Baseball uniform for Alvin
- Rhythmic gymnastics uniform for Elise
- Horseback archery uniform for Rowen
- Judo uniform for Gaius
- Swimming uniform for Muse
Costumes inspired by the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled and Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime were previously revealed.
The "RPG where choice weaves the future" is set one year after the ending of the first Tales of Xillia game. The key to the story is an eight-year-old girl named Elle Mel Marta (played by Mariya Ise). Daigo Okumura (Tales of the Tempest, Yumeria game, Elementhunters) is designing the new characters, in addition to the ones previously designed by Mutsumi Inomata (Windaria, Future GPX Cyber Formula, Utsunomiko) and Kousuke Fujishima (Aa Megami-sama, You're Under Arrest, Sakura Wars).
The game will ship for the PlayStation 3 console on November 1. Pre-orders will cost 8,380 yen (about US$105) and include the Tales of Xillia 2 -Before Episode- novel and artbook by the scenario writer, three alternate downloadable costumes (including Tales of Symphonia's Emil costume for Ludger), and 17 custom PlayStation 3 themes. Buyers can also add an official Dual Shock 3 Tales of Xillia 2 X (Cross) edition controller for a total of 12,980 yen (US$163).
