Capcom/Sega/Namco Bandai's Project X Zone Opening Streamed
posted on by Egan Loo
At this past weekend's Tokyo Game Show, Namco Bandai Games presented the opening footage for Project X Zone (pronounced Project Cross Zone), a Nintendo 3DS simulation role-playing game featuring characters from CAPCOM, Sega, and Bandai Namco Games franchises.
The relatively new studio Trigger produced the animated footage in the opening with the theme song "Wind Wanderer" by Yoko Takahashi (Evangelion). The director of the opening sequence is Akira Amemiya (Gurren Lagann, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, The IDOLM@STER). Trigger co-founder Hiroyuki Imaishi (Dead Leaves, Gurren Lagann, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt), then working at Gainax, directed the Namco × CAPCOM opening at Production I.G.
The game arrives in Japan on October 11. People who order the game early will receive a booket with character profiles and production designs, as well as a "crossover soundtrack CD."

Update: Katsuhiro Harada, Namco Bandai's game director and chief producer of Tekken and other fighting games, posted on Sunday that he "proposed [the] localization of Project X Zone." He later clarified, "Not decided yet, but it will be realized if I continue proposing."
