MikuMikuOnline Internet Chat Program Developed, Previewed

Demonstration video, pre-1.0 versions of MikuMikuDance-based software made available for download
On Wednesday, a fan group posted a video online demonstrating their MikuMikuOnline online chat software. MikuMikuOnline, shortened to "MMO," builds on the MikuMikuDance modeling software in order to create an avatar-based chat system. Players can import MikuMikuDance models and move them around a virtual space in order to chat with other users.
The program also comes with a radar system so that players can more easily find other users. According to its creators, there are no plans to add RPG-style elements to the program. In-development versions of the software are available for download through its official website, which also lists active public servers that will host users.
