Precure Actress Responds to Report Tying Alleged Kidnapper to Anime

The Nikkan Sports newspaper reported on Thursday that a Seijō University student, who is accused of kidnapping a 12-year-old school girl, was a fan of the Precure anime. This prompted voice actress Haruna Ikezawa to respond on Twitter, "…I went to Seijō University. I appeared in Precure. But, that doesn't mean you can say that I have a high chance of committing a crime. They're completely unrelated, right? (I realize that "appearing in" Precure and "liking" Precure are two different things.)"
20-year-old Tomohiro Kodama was arrested after he allegedly kidnapped a girl on Tuesday, put her in a bag, and then put the bag in a taxi's trunk. The girl was rescued without injuries. Nikkan Sports reported that a male college student in Kodama's year said that Kodama hardly went to school. According to Nikkan Sports' report of the male schoolmate's statements, Kodama was a Precure fan who said that his hobby was visiting Akihabara maid cafés in Tokyo.
