Hatsune Miku Blu-ray Box for 2012 Concert Tops Oricon Charts

The Japanese market research firm Oricon has announced that the virtual singer Hatsune Miku has topped their latest weekly Blu-ray sales charts. According to the firm, the Miku no Hi Daikanshasai 2 Days Complete Box Blu-ray and CD set sold 17,666 copies to top the Blu-ray chart, while the DVD version of the box sold 4,705 copies to rank 4th on the DVD charts. The set features recordings of both live events held on March 8 and 9 of this year.
The official home video release of the character's 2010 Kanshasai concert previously reached #2 on the charts, while the May 2010 EXIT TUNES Presents Vocalogenesis Feat. Hatsune Miku album was the first Hatsune Miku music CD to top the music charts.
Both the Blu-ray and the DVD boxes went on sale on August 29, for a price of 15,540 yen (about US$198) and 13,440 yen (US$171), respectively.
