Video game developer Marvelous AQL began streaming a 38-second action gameplay video for its upcoming Senran Kagura Burst -Guren no Shōjotachi- video game on Friday. Marvelous AQL will release the game on the Nintendo 3DS handheld console in Japan on August 30 for 5,980 yen (about US$75).
Marvelous AQL gave away themed facial tissues to promote the game in April, and the Cafe Euro in Tokyo's Akihabara district is currently offering two desserts that recreates the game's trademark imagery.
Enterbrain's Weekly Famitsu magazine announced in April that a Senran Kagura television anime series has been green-lit. Marvelous Entertainment released the original Senran Kagura video game in September 2011 on the Nintendo 3DS, and a manga adaptation has been serialized in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine since last October. Senran Kagura is scheduled to begin airing on Japanese television in 2013.
