Saint Seiya Omega Gets PSP Fighting Game in November
posted on by Egan Loo
A fighting game adaptation of the Saint Seiya Omega television anime series has been green-lit for release on the PSP on November 29. Namco Bandai Games will include characters from the ongoing anime such as the main lead Pegasus Kōga (voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa).
The screen will have a "Cosmo gauge" for each player on the bottom; charging up the gauge will enable special moves like "Big Bang Attacks" and power-up effects unique to each character.
The game will cost 5,230 yen (about US$67) at retail stores and as a PS Store download in Japan. Enterbrain's Famitsu posted more images in higher resolution.
The television series features a new generation of Saints in the storyline launched by Masami Kurumada's 1986-1990 mythological fantasy manga and Toei's subsequent 1986-1989 television anime. This is the first Saint Seiya television anime in 23 years. The new anime premiered in April, and Crunchyroll has been streaming the series into several countries as it airs in Japan.
