Gyrozetter Videos: Learn to Drive a Transforming Car Robot
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Japanese game developer Square Enix began streaming the two training videos for the Chō Soku Henkei Gyrozetter (Super High-Speed Transforming Gyrozetter) arcade game on Friday. The first video teaches newcomers how to control the game's transforming car robots — from drifting in drive mode to timing special attacks in battle mode. The second video covers the use of the more powerful sports-type machines for more advanced players.
The game debuted in arcades in Japan on June 21, and it features machines directly based on licensed car models from Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsuoka, and Mitsubishi.
A television anime series adaptation of the game will premiere this October. The team behind the Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road game, led by Ryūtarō Ichimura (Dragon Quest VIII, Dragon Quest IX), developed the arcade game while A-1 Pictures is producing the television anime series. The mechanical designers include Junya Ishigaki, Shōji Kawamori, Kanetake Ebikawa, Naohiro Washio, Shinobu Tsuneki, Fumihiro Katagai, Ryō Hirata, and others.
A Chō Soku Henkei Gyrozetter manga series debuted in the first monthly issue of Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine last December. A video game for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system will ship in spring 2013. Toys, card supplies, gadgets, and other tie-in projects are also planned.
