posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The United Kingdom arm of Namco Bandai Games announced on Friday that the Tales of Xillia role-playing game will get releases in North America and Europe. Namco Bandai Games released the title, the latest in the "Tales of" franchise, in Japan on September 8.
The Japanese software publisher had filed for trademark registration on "Tales of Xillia" with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on March 21. A day earlier, the company filed for the same trademark in the European Union.
The sequel game, Tales of Xillia 2, is slated to ship in Japan on November 1. This "RPG where choice weaves the future" is set one year after the ending of the first Tales of Xillia. Namco Bandai Games confirmed that Tales of Xillia characters will reappear in Tales of Xillia 2. Daigo Okumura (Tales of the Tempest, Yumeria game, Elementhunters) is designing the characters, and Ayumi Hamasaki (InuYasha) is contributing the theme song as she did in the first Tales of Xillia game.
