Dragon Quest Inspires 'Slime-Flavored' Chewing Gum

The confectionery maker Lotte will release "slime-flavored" chewing gum inspired by the Dragon Quest franchise in Japan on August 21. The new Fit's MAGIQ "stylish gum" variety will contain gelatin and xanthan gum to create a slimy texture as people chew.
The slime gum will feature a basic lime flavor with sour lime "magiq chip" pieces. Each pack will include 12 pieces for the suggested retail price of 130 yen (about US$1.60).
Square Enix will release the next title in the Dragon Quest role-playing game series, Dragon Quest X: Mezameshi Itsutsu no Shuzoku Online, for the Wii and Wii U consoles in Japan on August 2. The franchise's first online game will feature five races — ogre, wedi, elf, dwarf, and pukuripo — from which each player can create three characters.
