posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Japanese rock band OLDCODEX announced on their official website on Tuesday that they will perform the ending theme song for the second half of the Kuroko's Basketball two-cours (two-quarter or half-year) television anime series. The band member YORKE. wrote lyrics for "CATALRHYTHM," while R・O・N composed and arranged the music.
The song will be the first track on the group's fifth single CD, which will ship in Japan on August 8. The limited-edition release will cost 1,800 yen (about US$23), while the regular version will cost 1,200 yen (US$15).
OLDCODEX performed the ending theme song "Crossing Fate" for the television anime series togainu no chi - Bloody Curs. The band also appeared at the A Fes anime song festival that was held in Chiba's Makuhari Messe event center on March 24.
The anime inspired by Tadatoshi Fujimaki's original manga began airing in Japan on April 7, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs. Shunsuke Tada (The Prince of Tennis, Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations) is directing the anime, and Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Baccano!) is in charge of the scripts. Yōko Kikuchi (Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations, Noir) is designing the characters.
Update: Spelling of "CATALRHYTHM" corrected. Thanks, GokuMew2.
