Hello Kitty's Newest Crossover: The Mushroom/Fungi Garden App

As part of the one-year celebration for their Osawari Tantei Nameko Saibai Kit (Touch Detective Mushroom Garden/Fungi Gardening Kit) smartphone app, the developer BeeWorks announced on Tuesday that the product will be involved in a crossover with Hello Kitty. While details about the crossover have yet to be revealed, there are plans to create related goods this fall.
Earlier this year, the Japanese animation studio Gonzo produced a promotional video for the app. In the app, the player harvests a crop of 30 or more different mushrooms. The game employs touch gestures similar to BeeWorks' original Touch Detective game.
The app is available for both iOS devices (such as the iPhone and iPad) and Android devices. It has been downloaded 2.7 million times for iOS since last June, and it became available for Android devices on December 21. It has reached #1 on the free game ranking charts in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Macao, Thailand, and elsewhere.
