The official website for the Berserk anime film trilogy revealed on Wednesday that the franchise is inspiring the tentatively titled Berserk - Hundred Years War - social game. Studio 4°C, which is producing the anime film adaptation of Kentarō Miura's Berserk manga, is collaborating on the project. The game was unveiled at the E3 2012 event, and it is slated for release this winter.

Players will establish and develop their own mercenary groups. Users will be able to compete against other players' groups or team up to battle monsters. The game will be compatible with iOS and Android devices. Basic gameplay will be free, but items will cost money.

The Berserk character Griffith will also appear on cross-promotional advertisements in Osaka's E-ma shopping building from June 12-July 8. A "Tears of Griffith" display will appear near E-ma's east entrance. Exclusive items will be offered as part of the campaign. The films' voice actors Hiroaki Iwanaga (Guts), Takahiro Sakurai (Griffith), and Toa Yukinari (Casca) as well as director Toshiyuki Kubooka will appear at a talk event in the building on June 16. An advance screening of the film trilogy's second part will also be held on the same day.

The protagonist Guts appeared in the shopping center's first Berserk film promotional campaign in January.

The second Berserk film, Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen II: Doldrey Kōryaku, will open in Japan on June 23. The trilogy has been licensed for distribution in 16 countries. Viz Media will release the first film in the trilogy this fall.
