Theme Park-Themed Nintendo Land Game Unveiled for Wii U
posted on by Egan Loo
During its E3 media briefing on Tuesday, Nintendo revealed Nintendo Land, a new Wii U title that puts characters from its different franchises into a theme park-inspired collection of 12 "attraction" mini-games. Nintendo Wii U software producer Katsuya Eguchi highlighted the use of Wii U's global social networking system Miiverse.
Nintendo named three multi-player mini-games that will be playable at E3:
- The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest
- Animal Crossing: Sweet Days
-
Luigi: Ghost Mansion: Haunting Hijinks
- Like in previous Luigi's Mansion games, players have to run around a mansion chasing and being chased by ghosts. The GamePad allows one player to see all of the ghost in the mansion, while the other player cannot see all of them on the main screen
E3 will also have demos of two single-player mini-games:
- Donkey Kong: Crash Course
-
Takamaru's Ninja Castle
- Use GamePad to throw ninja stars
The Wii U's touchscreen-equipped GamePad will enable "asynchronous gameplay" — the GamePad-holding players can have a different gameplay experience from people playing with just Wii Remotes on the main screen. Nintendo Land will launch this holiday season alongside the Wii U itself.
