Chronicle Helmer Josh Trank Develops Shadow of the Colossus
posted on by Egan Loo
The movie news website Deadline reported on Wednesday that Chronicle director Josh Trank has agreed to develop the planned "big-scale live-action" film adaptation of Fumito Ueda and Team Ico's Shadow of the Colossus game for Sony Pictures. If the project gets green-lit, Trank is also in line to direct the film. Kevin Misher is still attached to the project as a producer, along with Misher Film executives Andy Berman and Kevin Chang.
Trank is also developing three different comic book film adaptations: a new Fantastic Four film for Fox, the Spider-Man spinoff Venom for Sony Pictures, and Red Star for Warner Bros. Trank openly acknowledged the influence of Katsuhiro Ōtomo's Akira on Chronicle, his 2012 film about teens struggling with their nascent superpowers.
