Ai Kayano, Takahiro Sakurai Lead "Say 'I love you'" Anime's Cast

The July issue of Kodansha's Dessert magazine announced the cast and staff for the anime adaptation of Kanae Hazuki's Suki-tte Ii na yo. (Say, "I Love You".) shōjo manga on Thursday. Voice actress Ai Kayano will star as Mei Tachibana, a girl who has never made friends or had a boyfriend in 16 years. Takahiro Sakurai will play Yamato Kurosawa, the school's most popular boy who for some reason becomes interested in Mei and starts a one-sided friendship with her. Risa Taneda, Nobunaga Shimazaki, and Yumi Uchiyama round out the cast as Asami Oikawa, Kenji Nakanishi, and aiko Mutō, respectively.
Takuya Satō (Steins;Gate, Student Council's Discretion) is directing the anime and overseeing the scripts at the studio ZEXCS. The series director will be Toshimasa Kuroyanagi (episode director on Inu X Boku Secret Service, Blue Exorcist), while Yoshiko Okuda (animation director on Casshern Sins, Shigurui: Death Frenzy) is designing the characters.
The anime will premiere in Japan this fall, and King Record's Starchild label opened the anime's website. Dessert did not reveal if the anime will be on television or home video.
