The official website for the television anime adaptation of Daisuke Suzuki's Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankei Nai yo ne— (OniAi) light novels was updated with cast and staff information on Wednesday. The anime studio SILVER LINK (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, Dusk maiden of Amnesia) is producing the series slated to premiere this fall.
Ryota Ohsaka (tsuritama, Kagaku na Yatsura) will star as Akito Himenokōji, while 14-year-old HoriPro talent Ibuki Kido will debut as his sister Akiko. Eri Kitamura (Last Exile: Fam, The Silver Wing, Minami-ke) will play student council president Arashi Nikaido, and Minori Chihara (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) will play her vice president Anastasia Nasuhara. Asami Shimoda (The IDOLM@STER, Seitokai Yakuindomo) will voice Akito's friend Haruomi Ginbei Sawatari.
Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Sket Dance, Mayo Chiki!) is directing the anime, and Kōsuke Kawamura (Mayo Chiki!, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari) is designing the characters. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Ben-To) is serving as the series' head writer.
The story centers around Akito, a boy who was separated from his twin sister Akiko, but they end up living under the same roof together during high school.
Suzuki launched the romantic comedy light novel series in 2010 with illustrations by Gekka Urū, and Media Factory's MF Bunko J imprint is shipping the sixth volume this month. The light novel series has over 430,000 copies in print. Kurō Rokushō! launched a manga adaptation in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine last year.
