posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The Japanese singers and voice actresses Nana Mizuki and Yukari Tamura will perform theme songs for Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 2nd A's, the second film in the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise. The performers are reprising their respective roles as Fate Testarossa and Nanoha Takamachi in the anime film.
Mizuki's opening theme song will feature on her 28th single CD, which will ship in Japan on August 1. Tamura's ending theme will appear on her single CD "Hohoemi no Plumage" (Plumage of Smiles), which is slated for release on August 15.
The movie will be a sequel to Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st, which opened in 2010. That film was a retelling of the first series, and creator Masaki Tsuzuki emphasized that it was a "new parallel history." In the second film, the magical girl Nanoha has a long-awaited reunion, but soon after, she encounters a new peril.
Mizuki (pictured right) will begin a nationwide tour in Japan on June 24 and perform at Kyoto's Heian Shrine on September 23. She will also contribute a theme song to the television anime sequel Dog Days', which will premiere on July 7. Mizuki has performed theme songs for the Blood-C, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and Rosario + Vampire anime as well as voice acted in many television series, films, and video anime.
In addition to voice acting in many television, film, and video anime, Tamura (pictured left) has performed theme songs for C³, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and Oreimo. Tamura ranked as one of Japan's top three bestselling voice actress with Mizuki in 2011.
