posted on by Egan Loo
Japanese software maker Atlus began streaming opening animation sequence for its PlayStation Portable port of the Persona 2: Eternal Punishment role-playing game on Thursday — the same day the game went on sale in Japan. (In the linked page, select the "Movie" menu option and then "OPアニメ".) The anime Studio Madhouse produced the sequence.
The game was originally released on the PlayStation console in Japan and North America in 2000. The updated version has new story scenarios, new characters, and refined background music. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment for the PlayStation Portable retails for 6,279 yen (about US$76). A North American release for the game has not yet been announced.
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is a companion game to the Persona 2: Innocent Sin game, which was released in Japan on the PlayStation console in 1999, but was never distributed in North America. Atlus USA released the PlayStation Portable port version of Persona 2: Innocent Sin in North America on September 20.
