Takeshi Furusawa directs August 4 film of novel that also inspired TV anime

The official website for the live-action adaptation of Yukito Ayatsuji's horror novel Another began streaming the film's full trailer.

Kento Yamazaki (Control Tower) plays lead protagonist Koichi Sakakibara alongside Ai Hashimoto (Confessions, Avatar) as Mei Misaki, the mysterious girl whose eye-patch hides a secret. The two actors previously worked together on Takahiro Miki's Control Tower film last year.

The official website streamed its teaser trailer in March.

Takeshi Furusawa (Avec Punch, Ghost Train) is directing the film which opens in Japan on August 4.

Crunchyroll streamed the anime version into several countries as it aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks will release the anime digitally "through multiple outlets" and will then release it on DVD and Blu-ray later this year.
