posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Japan's official YouTube channel for the Lollipop Chainsaw zombie-hunting action game began streaming a second live-action "image girl" promotional video on Friday. The 111-second video introduces cosplayer Jessica Nigri as "sexy Juliet." She will appear with Mayu Kawamoto as "cute Juliet" at a promotional event for the game in Tokyo's Akihabara district on May 19.
A previous voice cast introduction video revealed that Tara Strong (Batman: Arkham City's Harley Quinn) will star as the high school cheerleader Juliet Starling, and Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville's Lex Luthor) will play her decapitated-head boyfriend Nick in the game's English version.
James Gunn, writer-director of this year's film Super, co-writer of the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead, and writer-director of the films Tromeo and Juliet and Slither, is supervising the game's story scenario. Suda51 (No More Heroes) is acting as creative director for the game. Grasshopper Manufacture (Heroman, Rebuild of Evangelion: Sound Impact) and Kadokawa Games are co-producing Lollipop Chainsaw, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will release the game outside of all Asian territories.
Lollipop Chainsaw is slated for a June 12 release in North America on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The game will ship in Europe on June 13, followed by a release in Japan on June 14.
