Ring Films' Sadako Appears in Kayoe! Chūgaku TV Anime Shorts
posted on by Ko Ransom
As part of the promotional campaign for the upcoming Sadako 3D, The Ring franchise's first film in stereoscopic 3D, the film's iconic Sadako character will appear in the Kayoe! Chūgaku series of television anime shorts from May 7 to 10. The episodes are also being posted online by the show's official Facebook page.
Kayoe! Chūgaku is locally broadcast by Japan's Tokai TV, and is produced by DLE Inc. (Thermae Romae TV series). It tells the story of Wada, a middle school student from West Japan who has transferred into a new school. In the past, it has also featured collaborations with groups such as the Momoiro Clover Z idol unit.
Sadako 3D will open on Saturday. Various promotional tactics have been used for the title, such as a real-life parade of Sadakos Sadako 3D x Hello Kitty crossover items, Sgt. Frog "Sadako Keroro" mascot trinkets, Sadako tossing the first pitch at a ballgame, and Sadako transforming into an anime cat to teach filmgoers proper theater manners.
