The June issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace magazine is revealing on Thursday that the second season of Dog Days, titled Dog Days' (Dog Days Dash), will add voice actress Aoi Yūki (Puella Magi Madoka Magica's Madoka, A-Channel's Tōru, Dance in the Vampire Bund's Mina) to the cast. Yūki won the Best Lead Actress Award in the 6th Annual Seiyū Awards last month.
The magazine is also revealing that that Junji Nishimura (Ranma ½, True Tears, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan) will replace Keizō Kusakawa as the director for the second season. The studio Seven Arcs will again be producing the animation for the sequel series. Osamu Sakata is returning as the character designer and Masaki Tsuzuki is returning to write the screenplay.
Seven Arcs (Asura Cryin', Sekirei, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha) animated the first season that premiered in April 2011. In the story, Princess Millhiore (Yui Horie) of the Biscotti Republic decides to summon a brave warrior from an alternate world to defend her country from the neighboring fiefdom of Galette. The "brave warrior" turns out to be a boy named Cinque (Mamoru Miyano) from modern-day Japan.
The anime will premiere in July.
