Taiwanese Mall's Mascot Voiced by Kana Hanazawa to Be Animated
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Taiwan's Taipei City Mall's mascot character voiced by Japanese voice actress Kana Hanazawa (Guilty Crown, Nisemonogatari, Haganai) will receive an animated adaptation. Hanazawa will voice the mascot character in the animated version, and will sing the theme song "Orange Smile."
Hanazawa portrays a 12-year-old girl named Rion in the mall's promotional campaigns. The character is somewhat shy, and her hobby is collecting teru teru bōzu hand-made dolls. The small white dolls, said to bring good weather, also appear with Rion in advertisements.
The mall had held an event on Saturday to celebrate Rion's "birthday," which is on March 29, where it revealed the animated project and Hanazawa's involvement.
The Taipei City Mall posted two promotional videos of Rion in January.
