NTT Docomo NEXT series SH-06D NERV to go on sale in June
The official website for the Evangelion franchise announced on Tuesday that NTT Docomo is developing a docomo NEXT series SH-06D NERV phone, the first official Evangelion smartphone. The concept of the special-edition unit is a phone that would be government-issued by the Nerv organization in the world of the new Evangelion films. The phone will go on sale in June.
The mmbi booth at Anime Contents Expo will display the phone in Chiba during the March 31-April 1 weekend.
NTT Docomo offered an Evangelion feature phone as a tie-in with the Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance film in 2009. Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine offered the first official Evangelion cellular phone more than a decade ago.
