Japanese musician Hyadain, also known under his real name Ken'ichi Maeyamada, will perform the ending theme song "Start is right away" for the television anime adaptation of Tadatoshi Fujimaki's Kuroko no Basuke basketball manga. The Japanese band GRANRODEO will perform the opening theme song "Can Do" for the series.

Hyadain previously performed two opening theme songs for the My Ordinary Life television anime series. He also composed and arranged theme songs for Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, Baka to Test to Shōkanjū: Matsuri, and MM! under his real name. Maeyamada will compose and provide theme song lyrics for the Shining Hearts: Shiawase no Pan- television anime, which will premiere in Japan next month. Hyadain will release "Start is right away" as his fourth single CD on May 9.

In Kuroko no Basuke's story, Taiga Kagami (played by Yūki Ono) has just enrolled into Seirin High School when he meets Tetsuya Kuroko (Kenshō Ono) of the school's basketball team. Kuroko happens to be the shadowy sixth member of the legendary "Generation of Miracles" basketball team. Together, Kagami and Kuroko aim to take their team to the inter-high school championship — against Kuroko's former teammates.

The anime will premiere in April, and the 16th volume of the manga bundled a drama CD on March 2. Shunsuke Tada (The Prince of Tennis, Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations) is directing the anime at Production I.G, and Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Baccano!) is in charge of the scripts. Yōko Kikuchi (Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations, Noir) is designing the characters.
