Mami Kawada to Sing Jormungand Anime's Opening Theme

The singer Mami Kawada will perform the opening theme song for the television anime adaptation of Keitarō Takahashi's Jormungand manga. Kawada previously contributed theme songs for anime including Toaru Majutsu no Index, Shakugan no Shana, and Please Teacher!.
An advance screening of the anime's first episode will take place at the first Anime Contents Expo (ACE) event, which will be held at Chiba's Makuhari Messe center from March 31 to April 1. Special guests such as the Jormungand voice actress Shizuka Itou and other cast members will also attend.
Itou (Hayate the Combat Butler's Hinagiku Katsura) stars as Koko Hekmatyar, a female arms dealer. Mutsumi Tamura (Kill Me Baby's Sonya) plays Jonah, a former child soldier who joins Koko's mercenary unit. Rounding out the main cast are Sayaka Ōhara as the knife-wielding Valmet and Unshou Ishizuka as the mercenary leader Lehm.
Keitarō Motonaga (Getbackers, Katanagatari, School Days) is directing the anime at the Studio White FOX. Mobile Suit Gundam 00's Yousuke Kuroda is overseeing and writing the series scripts, and Gurren Lagann's Taku Iwasaki is composing the music. Kazuhisa Nakamura, an animation director on Katanagatari and Steins;Gate, is designing the characters.
The anime will premiere in Japan in April.
