posted on by Egan Loo
The staff of the EUREKA SEVEN AO science-fiction anime series announced during a Thursday event that the rock band Hemenway is performing the anime's opening theme song "Escape," while another rock band, Stereopony, is performing the ending theme "Stand by me." Koji Nakamura is composing the soundtrack for the anime.
The Thursday event also confirmed that 15-year-old Yuutaro Motoshiro (Elementhunters) will play the male lead Ao Fukai alongside Kanako Miyamoto (Tamayura) as the female lead Naru Arata. Ayaka Ōhashi, Chiaki Omigawa, and Kazuhiko Inoue round out the main cast as Fleur Blanc, Elena Peoples, and Truth, respectively. Motoshiro, Miyamoto, Ohashi, and Inoue will appear at a stage event during Anime Contents Expo in Chiba on April 1.
The new series will premiere with the launch of the new digital over-the-air television system NOTTV on April 1. It will then start on the traditional television stations MBS on April 12. A game adaptation is also launching. To celebrate the premiere of the new anime, the Eureka Seven - good night, sleep tight, young lovers film will get a new theatrical run in March, while the Family Gekijō channel will rerun the entire original television anime series that same month.
