K-ON! Train to Host Cosplay Event on Its Last Day
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The Amanohashidate Tourism Association and the Go-tan! fan group are collaborating to hold a cosplay event during the Kitakinki Tango Railway K-ON! train's last day on Sunday.
Cosplayers will travel on Kitakinki Tango Railway's special K-ON! trains between Kyoto Prefecture's Amanohashidate and Nishi-Maizuru stations while ordinary passengers also use the trains. The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and participation will cost 500 yen (about US$6) in addition to the normal train fare.
Kitakinki Tango Railway launched a train with K-ON! wrapping on December 3 to celebrate the K-ON! film's theatrical release in Japan. The company renewed its campaign with a different K-ON! train on January 28.
Japan Railways' Yamanote line also celebrated the K-ON! film's opening with special trains in December. The Keihan Railway launched a separate "Ho-kago Tea Time Train" in August.
