LovePlus Girlfriend Sends Email, Receives Eyeglasses

Japanese game publisher Konami is launching a New LovePlus Kanojo Mail (New LovePlus Girlfriend Email) service on Valentine's Day — the same day that the New LovePlus game itself becomes available for the Nintendo 3DS system in Japan. With the service, players will receive email messages from their virtual New LovePlus girlfriend on their personal computers, feature phones or smartphones. The service costs 315 yen (about US$4) a month, or 945 yen (US$12) for three months.

In a separate development, the 4Gamer.net website announced on Tuesday that it is collaborating with Konami to give each of the girls eyeglasses. Players can obtain the eyeglasses by entering "4GamerNet" in the game's password entry screen.
