Kid Icarus Chocolate Balls on Sale Next Month

The character goods maker TAKARA TOMY A.R.T.S will release Kid Icarus: Uprising (Shin Hikari Shinwa: Parutena no Kagami chocolate ball snacks on March 12.

Each snack package will come with one of 20 random augmented-reality cards that interact with the Kid Icarus: Uprising Nintendo 3DS game. Players who snap the cards with their Nintendo 3DS system's cameras will see the characters on the cards spring out in 3D animation. Each snack package will cost 105 yen (about US$1.35).

Kid Icarus: Uprising follows the protagonist Pit as he battles against the forces of a reborn Medusa who to plans to destroy mankind. The animation studios Production I.G, Studio 4°C, and Shaft will create three-minute animated shorts for the game.

Nintendo will release Kid Icarus: Uprising in Japan on March 22, and the game will ship in North America on March 23.
