New Side-scrolling 2D Super Mario Game Planned for 3DS

Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata announced at a press conference on Friday that the company will be making a new two-dimensional side-scrolling Super Mario game. Iwata noted that the game will be a "key title for the Nintendo 3DS," and it will be released in the next fiscal year, between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013.
During the press conference, Iwata also listed the games Nintentdo plans to release during the current fiscal year for the Nintendo 3DS, including New Love Plus, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Kingdom Hearts 3DS: Dream Drop Distance.
Iwata also revealed games that Nintendo will release for the next fiscal year for the Nintendo 3DS (pictured at right), including Fire Emblem, Culdcept, Bravely Default Flying Fairy, Rune Factory 4, and Dragon Quest Monsters.
Iwata also confirmed that Nintendo will show off the final version of its WiiU console at the E3 conference in Los Angeles in June, and he confirmed that the console will be released in Japan, North America, Australia, and Europe by the year-end sales season.
