posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The Japanese singer T.M. Revolution said at a press event for the Young Animator Training Project on Wednesday that he would like to marry the Squid Girl television anime character Sanae Nagatsuki. He named Sanae as the anime character that he would like to marry after responding to a question about his possible marriage to the Japanese model Nanao.
The singer described himself as an otaku at the event and said that he likes The One Piece and Evangelion anime. T.M. Revolution also praised the anime music composer Yoko Kanno and said that he enjoyed the K-ON! sequel movie.
T.M. Revolution appeared at the event as an ambassador of the Young Animator Training Project. Since the project was established in 2010, the Japan Animation Creators Association (JAniCA) has received 214.5 million yen (US$2.65 million) from the Japanese government's Agency for Cultural Affairs each year, and it has distributed most of those funds to studios who train young animators on-the-job. Answer Studio's "Puka Puka Juju," Shirogumi's "Shiranpuri," Telecom Animation Film's "Buta," and Production I.G's "Wasurenagumo" were selected to receive funds in 2011. Those 24-minute original shorts will premiere in Japan on March 24.
T.M. Revolution has performed theme songs for anime including Soul Eater, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Rurouni Kenshin, and Darker than Black.
