Time of Eve Anime Inspires Audio Drama in iPhone App
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Asmik-Ace Entertainment released the "Time of Eve act 0X" iPhone app on the iTunes Store in Japan on Tuesday. The Time of Eve café waitress Nagi stars in an original audio drama as part of the app.
In the six-episode story, Nagi reveals secrets that only she knows. The android Sammy also joins Nagi for "girl talk" in some episodes. The Time of Eve anime's Rina Satō and Rie Tanaka reprise their roles as Nagi and Sammy in "Time of Eve act 0X." The free version of the app comes with a trial story, but users must pay 170 yen (about US$2.20) for each additional episode.
The app includes "coffee timer" and alarm clock functions separate from the audio drama. Nagi explains how to make the Time of Eve café's trademark "Evelend" coffee while the clock counts down in the timer. For the "Time of Eve act 0X" alarm, Sammy says "It's time, master" at the designated time. The free version of the app includes both functions, but upgrades with additional phrases are also available for a price.
The official blog for Time of Eve anime revealed the app on Christmas Eve. Directions, Inc. and Studio Rikka, the two production companies behind Yasuhiro Yoshiura's Time of Eve anime, also announced on Christmas Eve that the movie version of the science-fiction drama anime is available digitally on the iTunes Store in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
