Square Enix confirmed on Wednesday that it is collaborating with game developer Byking (Gundam Extreme Vs.) and conceptual writer Gen Urobuchi (Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) of Nitroplus on their Gunslinger Stratos arcade game for this summer. The gun-shooting action game will feature four-versus-four-player online gameplay, 60-frames-per-second graphics on a 60-inch plasma display, two-handed device controllers, and Tokyo's Shibuya ward and other urban areas as its backdrop.
Nobuki Kadoi (Lord of Vermillion) of Square Enix is producing the game, and Biking's Shinichirō Obata is serving as director. The character designers are Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta, Okami), Arco Wada (Fate/Extra), and Shigeto Koyama (Heroman). The cast includes Atsushi Abe, Hisako Kanemoto, and Kana Ueda.
Urobuchi had indicated the day before that Square Enix's Wednesday presentation would reveal his first official project of 2012.
