posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The IGN Entertainment website began streaming a 146-second and a 192-second gameplay video for the SoulCaliber V fighting game on Thursday. The videos show a duel between the characters Ezio and Voldo and another fight between Viola and Leixia.
The Gamespot website also began streaming a 112-second gameplay video and a 153-second gameplay video for the Bandai Namco Games title on Wednesday. The videos include tutorials that show players how to evade attacks with "quick moves" and recover with "critical edge" attacks.
SoulCalibur V's story takes place 17 years after the previous games, and will feature a new main character. Bandai Namco Games has announced 21 of SoulCaliber V's characters including SoulCalibur game series veterans Mitsurugi, Ivy, and Siegfried and new characters such as Ezio Auditore (Assassin's Creed). A game trailer began streaming in August, and Bandai Namco Games also posted several character videos last fall.
SoulCalibur V is slated for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles in North American on January 31 with a February 3 release in Europe. The game will also ship in Japan this year.
