Shin Megami Tensei Imagine/Guilty Crown Crossover Launched
posted on by Egan Loo
A crossover project between Cave's massively multi-player online game Shin Megami Tensei Imagine and the ongoing television anime Guilty Crown launched on Tuesday. As part of the campaign, newly created characters in Shin Megami Tensei Imagine can receive official Guilty Crown uniforms for the avatars.
Guilty Crown is set in Japan in 2039, 10 years after the "Apocalypse Virus" devastated the land. The story revolves around Shū OUMA, an unsociable 17-year-old second-year high school student, and a 17-year-old rival named Gai Tsutsugami who is a young "Jiikundō" pilot of a guerilla organization. Both have the mysterious ability to extract weapons from other people in battle. Director Tetsuro Araki (Death Note, Highschool of the Dead), writer Hiroyuki Yoshino (Macross Frontier, My-HiME), original character designer redjuice (supercell), and musician Ryo (supercell) are all collaborating on this Aniplex project. Funimation and Niconico are streaming the anime in North America as it airs in Japan.
Aeria Games launched Shin Megami Tensei Imagine in North America and Europe, and it is still running to this day. Aeria Games has not announced if the Guilty Crown crossover campaign will be available in its international version of the game.
